Established in July 2001 by Toucan Capital, Trophogen
is a  start-up
biotechnology company based in Rockville, Maryland. Trophogen was formed
by two molecular endocrinologists who spent numerous years as academicians
at NIH and the University of Maryland before striking out on their own
to launch their first entrepreneurial endeavor. Operating with an initial
staff of eight scientists, our research is focused on developing super-agonists
and antagonists of cystine knot growth factors. Trophogen's platform technology
of substituting amino acids in protein sequences based on electrostatic
interactions has implications in a variety of therapeutic fields from
infertility to cancer. |
