CANCER THERAPEUTICS
Trophogen's technology for cancer targeting
Schematic representation of a single cancer cell being targeted through the plasma cell membrane receptor by a high affinity hormone superagonist in a complex delivering a cell-killing radionuclide or toxin. Previous studies have established that higher affinity of protein ligand should result in higher specificity and greatly increased efficacy of such receptor-based targeting.

Our technology platform represents the first successful design of glycoprotein hormone and related growth factor analogs that shows major increases in receptor binding and bioactivity exceeding results for other protein ligands. The advantage of our platform is derived from the fact that all previous receptor-based targeting methods have used the natural ligands. Trophogen, Inc. is the first to use engineered high affinity superagonists, which should greatly increase specificity and efficacy of cancer cell targeting and imaging. Moreover, since limited number of FSH, LH and TSH receptors are present in the majority of gonadal, gonadal-dependent and thyroid cancers, high affinity analogs combined with novel methods of radionuclide or toxin delivery are expected to show major therapeutic and diagnostic advantages . These include higher specificity, lower non-target toxicity, better penetration, internalization and higher clinical efficacy than any other therapy or imaging method for hormone-dependent ovarian, breast, testicular, prostate and thyroid cancers.
Trophogen’s FSH and LH analog infertility products are expected to increase both oocyte number and quality in many different types of human and animal infertility.
