Design of recombinant proteins with desired properties
initially became possible in 1982 with the publishing of the first
mutagenesis studies. In these past twenty years, however, successful examples
of protein engineering have been rare. Our technology represents the first
successful design of superactive analogs of glycoprotein hormones that
shows major increases in bioactivity and far exceeds results shown for
other protein ligands.
